چکیده
The main problems in road construction and maintance work Ethiopia availability of a large amount appropriate quality materials sites, aggregates different size fractions are not readily obtainable, necessitating their procurement from long distances, thereby causing an exorbitant increase costs. One the constructing asphalt paving mixture is obtaining sufficient filler material crushing fine rock low percent using ordinary Portland cement (OPC), hydrated lime (HL) marble dust. To overcome this problem, it important to come across alternative address gap naturally available material. Currently, renewed attention has been given use ‘waste’ instead conventional pavement construction. This research study investigates potential ‘Enset’ fiber ash as partial replacement hot mix supported by experimental laboratory investigation. In order achieve study, purposive sampling techniques were adopted select sample location. evaluated for design dense-graded referencing traditional control procedures based on standard specifications, crush was utilized comparison. Marshal Stability Rutting Test (RT) conducted determine HMA specimen's performance. Several specimens prepared aggregate blend according ASTM D 1559 with four percentages (EFA) 15%, 25%, 35% 45% total weight used mix. Specimens tests performed EN 12697-22 procedure-B rutting test. All properties taken at 4% air void determined optimum bitumen content (OBC). Almost same result observed 15% 25% replacement. However, higher Marshall Stability, lower filled asphalt, better flow, good mineral At rate, performance less than that but within specifications 2.78mm 2.9 mm depth 6mm satisfies 13108 requirement. As result, Enset can replace up study. It recommended ‘Enset' bituminous specificed percentage

Infrared Thermography Revolutionizes Hot-Mix Asphalt Paving
Hot-mix asphalt (HMA) surfaces comprise about 90% of the highways and roads in the U.S. Highways and are typically engineered to last 15 years or more, but many have been failing early due to potholes, cracks, raveling, and other problems. This premature road failure unnecessarily wastes millions of taxpayer dollars every year. This paper describes a series of research studies that were conduct...

Due to the high price of crude oil, and consequently asphalt binder, the application of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) in pavement technology is widely considered. The present paper is the result of a laboratory research which was carried out to investigate the effects of adding a rejuvenating agent to Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) with RAP. To this end, test samples comprised of Aged Asphalt Binder ...
متن کاملStudy of Compaction in Hot-Mix Asphalt Using Computer Simulations
During the process of compaction in Hot-Mix Asphalt (HMA) mixtures, the distance between aggregate particles decreases as they come together and eliminate air-voids. By measuring the inter-particle distances in a cut-section of a HMA sample the degree of compaction can be estimated. For this, a calibration curve is generated by computer simulation technique when the gradation and asphalt conten...

Road distress results in high maintenance costs. However, increased understandings of asphalt behaviour and properties coupled with technological developments have allowed paving technologists to examine the benefits of introducing additives and modifiers. As a result, polymers have become extremely popular as modifiers to improve the performance of the asphalt mix. This study investigates the ...
